Cul de Cuvée: Fresh corruption, viral jamón
The recently-random bits.
And the CdC is back, kisses to all!
Well, we never actually went away but were just ‘homeless’ for awhile due to not ‘paying’ the rent nor ‘cleaning’ the shared fridge in the co-working space we were also sleeping and smoking a pork shoulder in. But hey, through sheer determination and excellence, here we are again!
Speaking of ‘excellence’, it’s been reported that bubble behemoth, Freixenet is one of the “Top 100 Companies to work for in Spain” (ES). This of course ignores the fact that they were trying to lay off over 600 people (CAT) in the company two years ago, which kinda sounds like ‘all’ of the company given that now they have about 570 employees. You also need to ignore that they pay an unlivable 0.30€/kg for grapes to viticulturists in the Cava region. But hey, they got an LGBTQ+ program, so all is forgiven. Excellent company!
As per the high quality of The Drink Business's editorial standards, they ‘conveniently’ forget to mention that in a recent article, all of these Russian wine structures have been built in the illegally-occupied territory of Crimea, Ukraine. Admittedly it may have just been an oversight and not blatant propaganda given that the author, Eugene Gerden was in a rush when ‘borrowing’ from the original, actual journalism (RU) that very much does discuss the illegal aspects of the project. Gerden just snipped out a few of the ‘inconvenient’ bits and voilà!
As part of the CdC’s Wildlife Rapid Alert Program, we’d like to do out part and warn everyone that if in France, the season of drunken deer is upon us. You may think this is a cruel turn in evolution, but the fact is, wildlife is just doing its part given that beer has overtaken wine consumption in the country. Get yer drink on, our horn-ed friends!
And of course from our Automotive Detailing Department, we have word of thoughts on the Electric Ferrari but of course, it’s a wine edition.
